CLI reference

helix is the single binary. Every subcommand has its own reference page.

Source of truth

bin/audit-docs --category cli enumerates every dispatch case in cmd/helix/main.go. The current set:

helix run         — Run flow definitions in the foreground
helix start       — Start as a background daemon
helix stop        — Stop the running daemon
helix restart     — Stop + start the daemon
helix status      — Show daemon status

helix validate    — Validate a flow definition
helix debug       — Run with verbose debug logging
helix test        — Run declarative test cases
helix eval        — Run evaluation against a dataset

helix create      — Create a new project (alias: init)
helix export      — Export project (yaml/env/docker formats)
helix studio      — Launch Helix Studio

helix components  — List available components
helix schemas     — Generate JSON schemas
helix version     — Show version

helix chat        — Interactive CLI chat
helix code        — Coding agent REPL
helix agent       — Agent management (list, test)
helix mcp         — MCP utilities (list, serve, inspect)

helix license     — License utilities (verify, info, show)
helix cost        — Show token usage summary

The license subcommand is exempt from the startup license gate. __sandbox-exec is an internal re-exec wrapper, not user-facing.
